What is the CBT Model: Psychoeducation worksheet?

The CBT Model: Psychoeducation handout runs one work situation through the four boxes of the model, from Situation to Behavior. It uses a worried thought about a report, the feeling Anxious and Afraid, and the avoidance that follows. Two questions ask the client to judge whether that sequence was rational.

How to use the CBT Model: Psychoeducation worksheet

Send this home as homework once you have drawn the model out together in session. The sheet’s own example is a work report, which lands for some clients and not for others. Ask them to redo the four boxes with a situation from their own past week, keeping the printed Original Perspective beside it as a template. Your clients can bring the second column back unfinished, since generating an alternative thought is the hard part.

The CBT Model: Psychoeducation Worksheet Download – What’s Included

The download is a single printable page, one side, and it is not fillable. It sets the model out as two side-by-side columns, Original Perspective and Alternative Perspective, running the same report scenario twice. In the first, the thought leads to avoidance and calling in sick. In the second, it leads to a work plan and further research.
