What is the Positive Traits worksheet?

The positive traits worksheet lists eighteen named strengths, each with a short Definition and a Yes or No column. Kind is glossed as showing care for others, Resilient as able to bounce back from challenges. The sheet then asks for two more traits and a story of a time the client showed one.

How to use the Positive Traits worksheet

Use this sheet both in session and as homework. In session, work down the Positive Trait column and ask Do you have this trait? before reading the Definition aloud. A stated definition tends to talk a client into a Yes. Sit with any trait marked No rather than moving straight on. Your clients can write the story prompt at home, where a concrete memory is easier to retrieve.
