How to Create Group Therapy Notes

Managing group therapy sessions effectively is crucial for ensuring seamless therapy practices and accurate record-keeping. Follow these steps to create a group client type, record your sessions, and generate detailed notes.

1. Create a Group Client Type:

Before creating a group client type, ensure that all participants are already listed as individual clients in your records.

To create a group and assign participants to a group:

  • Navigate to the 'Add Client' section on your dashboard.
  • In the dialogue box that appears, set the 'Client type' to 'Group'.
  • Enter your group name and the number of group members.
  • Click on “Continue” to proceed to 'Assign Group Participants' to select the group members. Note: Participants must already be in the client record to appear here.

2. Record the Audio Session:

  • Conduct and record your group therapy session as usual. When you are done, Click on the “Configure and generate” button.

3. Configure the Note:

  • During note configuration, select the group name in the 'Client' input field.
  • Fill in other necessary information and click 'Generate Note'.
  • Once the note is generated, go to the session's card preview and select 'Assign participants'.
  • In the 'Assign participants' screen, match the number of speakers to their names based on the session transcript.
  • Click 'Generate Note'. The group note will start processing and will be available shortly.
  • Click on “View note” to view your progress note.
