What is the Anger Coping Skills worksheet?
The Anger Coping Skills worksheet runs eight numbered steps across two pages. Step 1: Recognize Your Anger Triggers asks for three situations or people. Step 2: Identify Physical Signs of Anger is a circle-one list, from Tight muscles and Clenched fists to Sweating and Shaking.
How to use the Anger Coping Skills worksheet
Use this sheet both in session and as homework. Do Step 1: Recognize Your Anger Triggers and Step 2 together in session, since clients name situations more readily than body signs. Practice the 4-4-4 breathing in the room rather than reading it, because the count is easy to lose under arousal. Your clients can fill Step 6: Practice Problem Solving between sessions, using a trigger they have already listed.
