For free, and not violate HIPAA

Searching for a good audio recording of your online therapy sessions application for Windows? Look no further. I believe I have found you one. OBS Studio is easy to use and offers good audio quality and free audio recordings, so there is no need for you to enroll in any subscription. This article will show you how you can use OBS Studio to record your sessions and save them locally on your computer.

Step 1: Download OBS Studio First, you need to download OBS Studio from the official website. Go to https://obsproject.com/ and click on the "Download" button for the Windows version of OBS Studio.

Step 2: Install OBS Studio Once the download is complete, double-click on the downloaded file to start the installation process. Follow the instructions provided by the installer to complete the installation.

Step 3: Set up your audio devices Before you start recording audio, you need to make sure the audio devices under the Audio Mixer panel have "Desktop Audio" and your Microphone, here, it is the "Mic/Aux".

Step 4: Add Headset to the Audio Mixer (Optional)

If you have your sessions with a headset, you will need to add it in the mixer to enable the recording to capture your connected headset. To do this:

Step 5: Add an audio source Next, you need to add an audio source to your scene. Click on the "+" button in the "Sources" section of the OBS Studio window, and select "Audio Input Capture" from the dropdown menu.

Step 6: Start recording Now that you have set up your audio devices and added an audio source to your scene, you can start recording. Click on the "Start Recording" button in the lower-right corner of the OBS Studio window to begin recording your audio.

Step 7: Stop recording To stop recording, simply click on the "Stop Recording" button in the lower-right corner of the OBS Studio window.

How To Convert the Recording into an Audio File

The recording from OBS Studio is in video format. Hence, we will need to convert it into an audio format to be able to use it on Mentalyc. You can use any audio extractor. But in this tutorial, I am going to show you how to do it using VLC.
